The therapist straddles over the patient’s buttocks and massages with the thumb the points in the lateral of the spinous apophyses of the lumbar vertebrae. The procedure is performed on 5 points (near the L-1, 2,3,4,5 vertebrae). There are two repetitions. The procedure consists in applying vertical pressure followed by an upwards pushing motion (towards the head). The pushing motion is performed both with the fingers and with the palms.
