The Simplicity of Yumeiho® A path to Body and Mind Balance

Mihai Mirodone (47 years old) is a Yumeiho therapist, a member of the Romanian Society of Yumeiho, and a certified Yumeiho therapy instructor accredited by the Yumeiho Center in Japan. His journey with Yumeiho therapy began over ten years ago when he experienced severe hip pain.

Mihai Mirodone received a harsh diagnosis fifteen years ago: femoral head necrosis, with a recommendation for surgery and hip replacement. He refused the operation and began exploring alternative therapies, which led him to Yumeiho therapy. After several sessions, his hip pain eased, his posture improved, and his overall physical and mental health got better. He decided to become a practitioner, and since then, he has helped thousands of people improve their health, ranging from back pain to severe bone issues and spinal deformities. “I have always admired Japanese philosophy, which is based on principles such as fairness, respect, cleanliness, and morality,” Mihai shares with us. He trained under one of the best Yumeiho practitioners in the world, Sensei Sorin Iga, president of the Romanian Yumeiho Society. Yumeiho is a therapeutic method based on manual actions performed on the entire human body to maintain or improve health. It includes around 100 maneuvers applied to the patient’s body, using a combination of massage, osteoarticular manipulations, and exercises to restore functional balance and alleviate both acute and chronic conditions. After his personal experience with Yumeiho, Mihai sought to apply the same healing methods to help others. “If it worked for me, maybe it will work for others. I first thought of those around me and then about other people,” the therapist tells us. Gradually, more and more Romanians began coming to his Yumeiho therapy center for recovery or health improvement, especially for bone issues or back pain. He left his job at CFR to open his first health center in Galați, and thanks to the success, he opened a second one. However, it wasn’t easy, as many people know little about this Japanese therapy. “If they see a video with dangerous maneuvers labeled as Yumeiho, people become skeptical. Many don’t want what we call ‘manipulations,’ which are more complex maneuvers; they only want the simpler ones. It’s important to understand that Yumeiho doesn’t mean starting right away by ‘cracking’ or manipulating the patient. There are cases where the therapist decides not to apply those maneuvers,” Mihai Mirodone points out.

Corrects imbalances in the body

Yumeiho is a therapy for postural realignment of the body, allowing patients to achieve better mobility and elasticity. ‘Yumeiho therapy does not cure anything; it does not act strictly on one problem. A patient does not come with a disease for us to act on. Yumeiho is a holistic therapy, meaning we treat the entire patient from top to bottom. I try to physically readjust the patient’s posture because many health issues stem from incorrect positioning of the spine and pelvic bones. When these incorrect positions occur, they are accompanied by irritations of the body’s nerve pathways, which can affect internal organs over time,” explains the therapist. His position is supported by doctors practicing allopathic medicine. “Allopathic medicine is based on the physician’s diagnosis and treatment with pharmaceutical substances, homeopathic medicine relies on substances and plants derived from nature, while complementary therapies are based on massage, movement, or relaxation. All three types of therapies can coexist and be used to achieve a favorable health outcome for a person, but we should not claim that one is better than the other. That’s why they are called complementary therapies, as they support allopathic therapy. We, as doctors, try to explain to people that we are not against these alternative therapies, but it’s essential to be cautious when consulting those who practice them, to differentiate between competent practitioners and those seeking material gain at the expense of people’s health. Alternative therapies must be used with caution and only after obtaining a clear diagnosis of the condition we are suffering from,” declared Valentin Boldea, a family doctor. Mihai corrects the imbalances that arise in the body through the therapy he applies, improving and even “healing” patients in many cases. He refrains from using the term “healing” because a patient can recover physically and maintain their health, but the condition they suffer from, especially if chronic, never truly disappears. “The disease information remains in the body; it just no longer manifests,” emphasizes the Yumeiho instructor. Although he treats many ailments, Yumeiho therapy should not be seen as a universal remedy.

The condition most commonly treated through Yumeiho therapy

Many of the patients who come to Mihai for therapy are tired, stressed, and tense, with many conditions they’ve been dealing with for a long time because they generally don’t exercise and are far too sedentary, and after a session, they complain of muscle soreness. ‘It sounds strange that after the first massage session you can experience muscle soreness. However, Yumeiho is not a massage, as some have mistakenly understood, and the therapy triggers a response from the body, confirming that the treatment was good and has changed something in the patient’s body,’ explains the therapist. This is where the therapist intervenes, explaining to each patient what reactions may occur after the application of Yumeiho maneuvers, although many quickly forget or do not pay attention when being spoken to. Mihai has treated thousands of patients over the 10 years he has practiced this Japanese therapy, the vast majority of whom have disc herniation. He has always advised his patients to accept therapy for the entire body, not just the area or organ where they have a problem at a given moment, because its effect will be nearly complete. People come for treatment because they feel their legs are tired or have back pain and are surprised at how good they feel afterward. What they don’t understand is that if they repeat the mistakes they made before, such as their office posture, and do not continue exercises as maintenance therapy, the problems will return and worsen. ‘When you work on the cervical area, for example, blood flow improves, ensuring a greater supply of nutrients and oxygen to the brain, which will work at a higher level than before. This matters a lot,’ emphasizes Mihai.

Many patients come to Yumeiho therapy sessions out of curiosity or are pushed by family or their ailments, and after the first session, they are surprised to find that their health and tone are much better. ‘Yumeiho therapy is quite physically demanding for the therapist. They give of their own health to provide well-being to the patient. What some patients don’t understand is that they are not paying for health but for the therapist who helps them regain it,’ the therapist confides. More and more Romanians have turned to alternative therapies in recent years, and with Yumeiho therapy, a major advantage is that it is non-invasive, with patients achieving tangible results from the very first session. ”This is why I have been applying this therapy for so many years, because I have found that the results are spectacular and quite rapid compared to other therapies I have tried on my own skin. There are some cases where I cannot help a patient because their conditions are in a more advanced stage, which are hard to treat with alternative therapy, and then I refer them to a specialist doctor” Mihai confides. He has many plans for the future, one of which is to promote Yumeiho therapy as it is, without unnecessary exaggerations, as the techniques involved are primarily preventive, necessary for many people, aiming to prevent the onset of imbalances in the body and the onset of disease, while also preventing the worsening of existing conditions.
