The therapist kneels on his left knee and places the right sole on the floor on the right side of the patient. The left palm is supported on the floor. With the right thumb the therapist massages the posterolateral side of the patient’s neck two times, on 3 lines, in 5 points. The first points of each line are situated in the close vicinity of the occipital bone, the last being approximately near the C-7 vertebra. The lines are relatively parallel with the cervical spine, the first being situated in the close vicinity of the spinous apophyses of the cervical vertebrae.

This description presents the manner in which the procedure is performed on the left side of the patient. Similarly, the same steps are followed on the right side. In the standard version, the procedure is first performed on the left side and then on the right side.
